![]() Kokujouji doesn't understand these new-fangled giant robots and also wishes his was a bunny. Iwa-san and Kokujouji are kinda old for piloting robots but they do their best, Iwa-san's probably can transform into something with a big gun and he's more of a support fighter (also please don't drink and pilot a giant robot). Hisui probably takes to being a paladin really easily, since he has an affinity with computers, and maybe in this AU his wheelchair is like a mini-lion sorta that can interface with his actual robot. Mikoto on the other hand pretty much prefers to lay back and put his robot on autopilot, the Red clan definitely forms Red Voltron immediately in any and all situations so that he can just chill while the rest of his clan do the actual fighting and Mikoto only really gets motivated when either a) everyone is in major trouble and they really need his help, or b) he gets to robot-punch Munakata. Munakata definitely is all into this, he would probably think being a lion pilot is secondary only to being a ninja and this is like his way of bringing order to the galaxy. He attacks the alliance and the Kings end up finding these lion robots of different colors which awaken when they step inside and soon everyone has their own awesome flying robot lion to deal with. The seven Kings are all ambassadors of the alliance from different planets, but then Colorless like defects and turns out to actually be from Planet Doom. Say many years prior to the series there was a great space war and Kagutsu almost destroyed whole planets by blowing up his giant robot fortress, in response to this all the planets came together to form a galaxy alliance that was meant to keep peace in the universe but their ties started to fray and there's like this very uneasy truce between them. Oh wait maybe each King gets like multiple lions of one color that they can give to their clansmen and then everyone forms together to make their own color Voltron, like Scepter 4 has Blue Voltron and Homra has Red Voltron etc etc. I didn't actually manage to finish the first season of new Voltron so apologies if this is very general or possibly based on the old school version which I am slightly more familiar with ^^ (I didn't dislike inew Voltron or anything it just didn't hook me enough to make me want to watch more.) But I'm kinda imaging K AU where instead of Kings getting superpowers and a Sword of Damocles everyone gets robot space lions instead. But Techno is still in an extremely dangerous position here because being a good liar doesn't mean you're good at picking up on other people's lies, and at the end of the day, he seems poised to walk right into Quackity's trap. So yes, it's possible that Techno was acting more trusting of Quackity than he really felt to get Quackity's guard down, and there were hints of this such as Techno misleading Quackity about the nature of the favor he owes Dream. But then again, he also agreed to go with BBH in the first place despite how openly suspicious BBH was acting, and I don't read Techno as motivated enough by curiosity to knowingly leap into danger just to get answers. We have, admittedly, seen him perform friendliness to throw enemies off the scent before, such as when Techno acted really casual and clueless around BBH during the egg stream but it ended up being a ploy to distract BBH from Ranboo following them. The question almost read more as a "feeling insecure so I'm gonna super casually seek reassurance with a friend" with a hint of defensive posturing.)Ĭaveat #2: I am aware that I could be underestimating Techno's capacity for emotional manipulation as well. (Which, also, if you suspect someone is lying to you, I wouldn't say asking them bluntly whether they're lying to you is the most savvy way to get answers. It was enough that when Techno asked point blank if Quackity was lying, he basically accepted Quackity's answer at face value. That was enough for Techno to act friendly with him, share information, offer him food, think it's reasonable to assume that Quackity is visiting to celebrate Techno's birthday, etc. And even after all that, all it took for Quackity to get his foot in the door with Techno was lasting through one (1) teamup without backstabbing him. The same dude who literally said that he wouldn't stop trying to kill Techno until he succeeded. This is Quackity, the guy who tried to publically execute Techno, who imprisoned Phil, who took Carl hostage. Alright so we've known for a while that Techno builds up defenses to compensate for social vulnerability, but man did this stream showcase the extent of that vulnerability.
